Old log cabin with guest stuga for six people near the Baltic Sea coast - Högsby municipality.

Our guest home Källtorp 129 is located in a secluded location on the main road 34 - the way to Astrid Lindgren's World. The house lies in good distances to the nearby lakes, to the two major southern Swedish rivers Alsterån and Emån, to the sea as well as to many shopping opportunities in the surrounding towns of Blomstermala, Högsby, Ålem and Mönsterås. The dream beaches of Öland can also be easily reached in about 1 to 1.5 hours driving time. The nearest larger town is Kalmar, about 48 km away.

The holiday home is two-storey, and has a separate guest stuga with approx. 15m² area. On the ground floor is the entrance area with veranda and hallway. From there you enter the living/dining room with an open fireplace, a comfortable sofa for four, and a dining table with six seats on chairs and a kitchen sofa, as well as a cupboard with puzzles and games.

From the living room you enter the kitchen with a functional smålendian kitchen oven. The rest of the kitchen meets modern standards - a ceramic hob with modern oven, two pull-out cupboards, a spacious sink, a crockery cupboard as well as an extendable table with two chairs and a large Miele refrigerator complete the equipment. The kitchen is equipped with all cooking and preparation utensils including spices and a small supply of cooking utensils which can be used and replaced when needed.
The kitchen leads to the utility room with waste separation, washing machine and a small freezer. On the shelf of the utility room you will find everything you need for washing and cleaning. You can also find spare light bulbs, batteries, vacuum cleaner bags and fuses.

Finally, on the ground floor you reach the bathroom with a modern shower cubicle, toilet, washbasin, storage cupboards, a bathroom scale, hairdryer and plenty of towel rails. Here you will also find the hot water boiler for the bathroom and kitchen.

In the hallway, a staircase with a handrail leads to the upper floor. Here are the two bedrooms for two people each. The first bedroom is equipped with a double bed of 160x200cm, a shelf and a wardrobe, the second bedroom has a bed area of 180x200cm (two beds each 90x200cm), as well as three chests of drawers for laundry. In the hallway between the two bedrooms there is a small fold-away desk and a "library" for children and adults to find some good books.

The third bedroom is located in the guest stuga, about 8 meters from the house. The stuga is equipped with a bed of 140x200cm, a washbasin on a chest to brush your teeth, an extendable table with two chairs, a wardrobe and an alcove for luggage.

There is internet throughout the house, but we do not have high-speed internet, only a wired connection with medium quality.

For our guests there is a tandem for free use as well as two simple touring bikes to explore the beautiful surroundings.

Our holiday home is located on a spacious plot of approx. 2000m² with its own driveway and three possible parking spaces. There is a large lawn for all leisure activities, a swivel barbecue with fire bowl, a woodshed with free firewood. Behind the guest stuga you will find the bicycles in a shed.

The cottage is a historic building - an old soldier's torpet in log cabin construction with central fireplace, oven and kitchen stove - fully functional. So if you want to bake your own bread in the historic oven, you now have the opportunity to do so. If you want to know more about the torpet, you can find in the internet.

The house is located a few kilometers (see map) from the Baltic Sea coast, which can be reached directly from the property via forest paths away from all roads by bike. All mainroads on the coast have cycle paths – nearby shops are also within cycling distance. There are beautiful lakes in the vicinity, Sweden's two large southern river Alsterån and Emån are also in the immediate vicinity and invite you to canoe trips. Lakes and rivers offer a wide range of fishing opportunities - Infos in the house. In Blomstermala, seven kilometres away, there is a fantastic bike park with many tours for demanding mountainbikers, and north of Högsby there are a variety of climbing areas.

Culture can be found in Kalmar, a city with a mediterranean flair. Here is also the bridge to Öland, over which you can reach the lovely beaches in the north of the island in about 1.5 hours. Finally, the Glasriket should be mentioned, countless glassblowing workshops at a moderate distance invite you to visit.
