Holiday apartment for max. 5 persons
Cochem, Moselle-Saar-Ruwer, Germany
Well-presented, stylish holiday apartment over the rooftops of the Cochem old town
Our generous holiday apartment with a Mediterranean flair is situated amidst the romantic Cochem old town. Despite the central location, the accommodation is quiet above the rooftops of Cochem.
The kitchen opens directly onto the ‘summer dining space’ of the terrace. The large roof terrace is a wonderful spot in summer to relax over the rooftops of the Cochem old town.
It is on the upper floor of a historical old town house and provides 90m² of living space. It is furnished and equipped to a high standard, so you will have everything you need. It has two bedrooms, a big living room, a spacious dining space, a modern and fully-equipped kitchen, a newly renovated bathroom and direct access to the roof terrace. The larger bedroom is furnished with a double bed with two firm high-quality mattresses (each 90 x 200cm) as well as a spacious wardrobe. The somewhat smaller bedroom has a double bed (160 x 20cm) with a firm and high-quality mattress and also a spacious wardrobe. Both bedrooms have darkening blinds. When selecting the mattresses for both bedrooms, we considered healthy sleeping comfort. The generous living room provides a suite for five to six people. It has a flatscreen TV with a satellite receiver and a good stereo system with a USB port. The dining room is tastefully furnished in a country style with a big dining table that seats six people comfortably. The spacious and fully-equipped kitchen with a modern glossy design leaves nothing to be desired.
Cochem is no doubt one of the particularly romantic places on the Moselle, not least because of the surrounding landscape with steep slopes, the Moselle with its banks, the deep forest gorge of the Endert. The town centre is dominated by a striking hill with the Reichsburg Cochem. It is among the best preserved castles of the region. The historical old town is also an absolute highlight. The many timber-framed houses, the market square and the remains of the medieval town wall give the town a poetic flair. Steep alleys and steps lead to the former monastery built in the 7th century on Kapuzinerberg and to the Reichsburg opposite. There are picturesque viewpoints everywhere. One of the town’s gems is also the town hall built in 1739 in a baroque style, along with the market square with the Martinsbrunnen and the timber-framed and gabled houses with Moselle slate roofs on the narrow hilly alleys. Many old windy stairs lead from the market square up to Klosterberg, which was a monastery until 1802 and is not the cultural centre of the town. You can enjoy regional wine and watch boats along the Moselle promenade more than a kilometre long with countless hotels and restaurants. It is no wonder that Cochem is among the most popular holiday and trip destinations on the Moselle and furthermore it is surrounded by the hiking regions of the Eifel and Hunsrück. During a longer stay, it is worth taking a cable car ride up Pinnerberg, which affords the most impressive view of the town.
